Admission Procedure

  1. All parents seeking admission to NCS Visakhapatnam are to complete online registration formalities via link given on the homepage of this website.
  2. Serving naval personnel can register on the school website for admission of their wards to LKG. Admission registration forms can be downloaded from school website Parents must visit the school with Transfer Certificate and other relevant documents for completion of admission formalities. In case of unavailability of any documents the admission will be granted on provisional basis.
  3. For all other categories duly filled proforma, available in Secondary School office along with all necessary supporting documents to be submitted for approval. Admission to other Categories will be considered subject to availability of seats.

Documents required for online registration for classes LKG to IX & XI :-

  1. Original Transfer Certificate: if online registration is done before issue of T.C, Upload a white sheet stating “will submit later”.
  2. Recent Report card of previous class: if online registration is done before issue of UKG Report Card, Upload a white sheet stating “will submit later”. After getting the Report Card please submit a copy of the same in the Secondary School Office.
  3. Aadhar Card of Parents and student.
  4. Undertaking letter for admission for classes UKG to Class II (as per NEP 2020). (Download from website, to be duly filled and uploaded).
  5. Form 2A (Download from website, duly filled Form 2 A is to be countersigned by the HoD/CO of the respective Unit).
  6. Date of Birth Certificate from the Municipal Corporation. Parents are requested to enter the name of the student, date of birth, father’s name and mother’s name as per the birth certificate of the child. This information cannot be changed after sign-up.
  7. Residential Address: Present address at Visakhapatnam.
  8. Photograph: Student and Parents.
  9. Specimen signature.

List of Documents required for Class X /XII Direct admission (other than above list)

  1. Request Letter to the Principal regarding the reason for change of school
  2. Transfer certificate , Previous school report card & Registration copy
  3. Parent’s Transfer order attested (blue ink only)
  4. Local residence address as per office record to be issued by the office where parents of student joined after transfer
  5. DD in favour of “The Secretary, CBSE, payable at Vijayawada.
    After the completion of online registration, submit the hard copies at school office for admission. After completion of the process parents are requested to collect the admission slip along with new Admission number from NCS, NSB Secondary School Office

Admission Categories

  1. Category 1 - Wards of Serving Naval personnel posted in station/ city (including Defence Security Corps posted in Naval units), OR Widows of Naval personnel died while in service.
  2. Category 1A - Wards of Personnel from IA/ IAF, on deputation with IN OR serving in Tri Service organisation, posted in station/ city and widows of IA/ IAF personnel died while in service.
  3. Category 1B - Wards of Personnel from IA/ IAF, not on deputation with IN, OR not posted in Tri- Service organization, but posted in station / city; and Serving personnel of Indian Coast Guard (ICG).
  4. Category 1C - Wards of ESM of IN residing in the city/ station, who retired with pension/ invalided out on medical grounds with pension, OR Serving IA/ IAF personnel who have chosen the city/ Station as SPR, OR school staff.
  5. Category 2 - Wards of ESM of IN not residing in the city/ station, who retired with pension/ invalided out on medical grounds with pension.
  6. Category 2A - Wards of ESM of IA and IAF, who retired with pension/ invalided out on medical grounds with pension.
  7. Category 2B - Wards of Defence civilians working with IN in the same station/ city.
  8. Category 3 - Wards of ESM of IN, who retired without pension/ invalided out on medical grounds without pension.
  9. Category 3A - Wards of ESM of IA and IAF, who retired without pension/ who invalided out on medical grounds without pension.
  10. Category 3B - Wards of Personnel of all three Services who are not categorised as ESM.
  11. Category 3C - Wards of Defence civilians working with IA and IAF posted in the same station/ city.
  12. Category 4A - Grand children of service personnel.
  13. Category 4B - All others.

Admission Guidelines-

Guidelines for online Admission for Academic Session 2024-25

General Instructions:-

  1. Kindly download guidelines & read all instructions carefully before you click on PROCEED button at the bottom of this page.
  2. The name of the applicant, father's name / mother's name, date of birth etc. should be spelt correctly in the form as it appears in the certificates. No corrections will be allowed later on. Enter name of student and parents of std II to IX as per transfer certificate of previous school while for LKG and Std I. Kindly enter name as per birth certificate only.
  3. It is mandatory to fill all fields which are marked ( * ) in red. If any field is not applicable for you, please write NA (Not Applicable).
  4. An incomplete registration form will automatically be rejected.
  5. After completing the form, click on 'Submit' button at the bottom of the page. You will receive an auto-generated Acknowledgement Receipt with a reference number, USER ID & PASSWORD for further correspondence.
  6. Take a print out of the Registration Form through Print Form option and Acknowledgement Receipt. You would require quoting the reference number for all future correspondence with the school.
  7. NOTE: Applicants must retain a copy of the printout of registration form and acknowledgement receipt for their record.
  8. For Serving personnel, a print out of the blank ‘ Form 2A’ is required to be taken. This form 2A is to be dully filled and it should be countersigned by the HOD/CO of the respective unit with signature and seal. The scanned copy of the same has to be uploaded and hard copy to be submitted with other documents at school office.
  9. Kindly specify the category of admission briefly. The details of admission category and admission schedule is as follow:

Category I - Online Admission Registration is now open for Category-I (Serving Naval Personnel) only. Online registration will commence from 13 Mar 24.

Category II -Children of Serving Army/ IAF/ personnel on deputation to Navy, serving Indian Coast Guard (ICG) Personnel and NCS Staff). (Online Registration will commence from 25 Mar 24)

Category III -(Children of retired Naval Personnel). (Online Registration will commence from 17 April 24)

Category IV -(Children of serving and retired Army, IAF and retired ICG personnel). (Online Registration will commence from 17 April 24)

Category V -(Children of Defence Civilian Personnel). (Online Registration will commence from 26 Jun 24)

Category VI -Others)

NOTE: Admission for categories other than category – I (Children of serving Naval Personnel) will open subject to availability of vacancy.

Procedure for Admissions:-

RegistrationRegistration of students for admission will be done at the beginning of the session for classes for which vacancies exist. Firm dates will be promulgated by the schools. Mere registration does not guarantee admission.

Admission of LKG

For admission to LKG the child must be 4 years of age as on 31 March 2024. Age eligibility for other classes will be increased by one year per class respectively. (Child born on 01 Apr will be considered) There is no policy of automatic admission of Nursery students in Class LKG.

Admission of Pre-Primary Students in Class I

Admission to class I is not automatic for students studying in Naval KG NSB and Dolphin Hills . Students completing UKG (Promoted students) and seeking admission into Class I, under Category I (for Children of serving Naval Personnel) are requested to apply online through the school website www.ncsvizag.edu.in. All admissions in Class I shall be treated as fresh admissions and shall be dealt with as per rules in vogue. Age Eligibility for Admission : For admission to Class I, the child must be 5 years of age as on 31 March 2024, (Child born on 01 Apr will be considered)

Other Conditions of Admission

  1. A child must be 4 year old on 31st March in the academic year in which admission is being sought for admission in Class-LKG. For subsequent classes, the eligible age would be reckoned again with reference to 31st March with a proportionate increase over 4 years. An upper age limit for admission is fixed as the minimum age limit plus two years. No child would be eligible for admission in a class if the age is more than this maximum age prescribed. The maximum age would be relaxed by two years for differently-abled children. No admission test shall be conducted for admission to Class LKG.
  2. A child must be 5 year old on 31 March in the academic year in which admission is being sought for admission in Class-l.   3. No admission test shall be conducted for admission to Class LKG. All applications received would be divided into the categories as mentioned at Para 2 above. Each category would then be taken up for admission in order of priority i.e. Category-I first, Category-Il next and so on until all the vacancies are filled.
  4. Category-l children are direct admission after completion of registration process in any class. Category-I students transferred during the academic year from other Navy Children Schools would be granted admission based on their TC.
  5. Original birth certificate should be produced at the time of admission.
  6. All admissions will be subject to the approval of the SMC and subject to availability of seats, suitability of students and verification of relevant documents.

Method of Admissions in Class XI:

Admissions in different Streams viz. Science, Commerce, Humanities of Class XI in NCSs for NCS students who have passed Class X will be regulated as follows:-

  1. The merit list will be drawn/prepared as per percentage obtained by applicant in CBSE/Class X results in every School.
  2. The Seats will be allotted as per the rank in the merit list prepared as at (a) above vis-a-vis number of vacancies available in a particular stream in the School and as per the option of stream opted by the student.
  3. In case of two or more candidates obtaining equal percentage, the inter-se merit of such candidates may be determined as follows: Candidates obtaining higher marks in Maths will get precedence in admission.

* If two or more candidates have got the same marks in Maths, then the candidates securing higher marks in Maths and Science taken together will get precedence over the others.

* In case of a tie between two or more candidates obtaining same marks in Maths and Science taken together, the student older in age as per the DOB will be given precedence over the other.

* There are Three streams available at NCS, Vizag during the academic year 2024-25 as mentioned below. Class XI admission will be purely on MERIT.
